Special Thanks to PRA
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Pennsylvania Rehabilitation Association for their endorsement of my candidacy for NRA President-Elect. I want to especially thank PRA President Carl Marshall, President-Elect Terry Dailey, Past Presidents Janet Fiore and Rick Walters, Secretary Janell Shaffer-Yoder, Ralph Pacinelli, Brian Hoerz, the entire PRA Board of Directors, and the Rehab Counselors and Professionals from public and private agencies from across the Commonwealth.
I pledge to carry out my campaign promises that include:
Improve member benefits and services
Improve communication
Increase organizational transparency
Improve NRA Infrastructure
Be proactive re: big issues like the Rehab Act and WIA reauthorizations, as well as Rehab Counselor salary equity
Foster partnerships with allied organizations to further our mission
Enhance public awareness and support for the rehabilitation professions
My experience in Pennsylvania and other states has taught me that the heart and soul of the NRA is found at the chapter and division level. There is much we can learn from the wonderful things going on in the states. The national leadership derives their strength and support from our members and we who hold national elective office need to redouble our efforts to create positive partnerships (NRA President Susan Sherman's theme for 2006) with our state chapters and members everywhere.
We are all partners in a great mission. We live in challenging times. In assuming the office of 2007 President-Elect I look forward to working with you to make this world a better place for individuals with disabilities and the professionals who dedicate their lives to the cause! I thank my fellow Pennsylvanians for your support, and for choosing to be an active member of NRA, PRA and its divisions.
