Effective today, Dr. Troy Justesen will serve as Acting Director of the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) and will continue to serve as Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary. As acting OSEP director, Troy will be working more closely with me to operationalize the Secretary's Action Plan to Increase State Capacity in Instruction, Assessment, and Accountability for Students with Disabilities while completing the regulatory process for the 2004 IDEA regulations.
Effective today, Dr. Edward Anthony will serve as Acting Commissioner, Rehabilitation Services Administration in addition to his responsibilities as Director, Office of Policy and Planning.
I want to thank Patty Guard for the great work she has done to manage OSEP. Patty will work closely with Troy in carrying out her responsibilities as OSEP's Deputy Director.
