SAVE THE DATE: NRA to Host TeleSeminar on CSPD on January 17, 2006

As highlighted in the most recent edition of Contemporary Rehab, which appears on NRA's website at http://www.nationalrehab.org/website/CRdec2005.pdf , the National Rehabilitation Association will host a TeleSeminar on the importance of qualified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors and qualified Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) personnel.
The TeleSeminar is entitled 'Qualifications Count: CSPD; Past, Present and Future,' and will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2006, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST.
Components of the TeleSeminar will include the history, research, research-to-practice, policy and practice, and consumer perspective of the Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD). In these challenging and changing times, one thing remains constant: The importance of maintaining well-qualified VR counselors and VR personnel and the importance of the relationship between the education and training of the VR counselor and the VR counselor's performance on the job.
The National Rehabilitation Association has invited some of the best and brightest in the rehabilitation field in the country to serve on this prestigious panel.
These individuals include: DR. DONALD DEW, Professor of Counseling and Director of the Regional Rehabilitation Continuing Education Program (RRCEP),George Washington University; CHARLENE DWYER, State VR Director in Wisconsin; DR. FRED MCFARLAND, Professor and Chair, Department of Administration, Rehabilitation and Post-Secondary Education, San Diego State University; RITA MARTIN, Assistant Executive Director of the Council of State Administrators for Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR) and former State VR Director in Indiana; JAMIE RAY, consumer and advocate, Pennsylvania Client Assistance Program; DR. FREDRIC SCHROEDER, Research Professor with the Interwork Institute at San Diego State University and former Commissioner of RSA; CARL SUTER, Executive Director, CSAVR, and former State VR Director in Illinois.
Biographies and a brief description of the presentations will be shared with you in a forthcoming Washington Wire to be issued early next week.
CRC credits will be offered for those who attend the TeleSeminar by phone.
